Mausoleum "Saint George the Victorious"
  St. George the Victorious is an orthodox chapel-mausoleum, located on Renaissance Square in the city center.
  It was built in memory of the Orthodox soldiers who died at the Siege of Pleven in 1877 - 1878, the remains of many of which are buried in the crypt of the chapel. The mausoleum "St. Georgi Pobedonosets "is dedicated to the 31,000 Russian and 7,500 Romanian soldiers who died at Pleven. It was built in the period 1903 - 1907 with voluntary donations from the Bulgarian people. The iconostasis and the icons are works by prominent artists Ivan Murkvichka and Anton Mitov.
  The main stone of the chapel mausoleum was solemnly laid on April 24, 1903.
